Do I have to complete any courses at your stage school before I can audition?
No. You can audition for any part in any production, if the description of who we are looking for seems to match.
What do I have to prepare for the audition?
Nothing, as we will teach you all we need to see. First, you will come to one of the open auditions. You need not bring anything but some time and patience and your enthusiasm for acting on the stage. Usually some 60 to 120 children attend each audition. The casting director tries to find out who might be a match for one of the roles to be cast. You will be on the stage for a few minutes only, the casting director will watch your moving, listen to your voice and your pronunciation. Many of the applicants will be recalled one or two weeks later. If you get a recall, you will have to prepare one scene, learn the lines and then do a rehearsal almost like a real rehearsal.
What do I have to expect when I get cast for a production?
A lot of fun and a lot of hard work. The rehearsal period will last six to eight weeks. In that period you will have not much free time left. Rehearsals usually start at 3 pm and take three to four hours each day.
After the opening you will perform in two or three shows per week. You will be granted leave from school up to one day per week. That is why we have to know about your school performance right at the beginning of the casting process.
How much will I earn?
Nothing. As a member of our young talent cast you will be a member of the Junges Theater Bonn society and will only receive a small compensation on your expenses.
